Wheel Repair in Houston, TX
Houston roads move. Clay soil swells and shrinks with every wet season and dry spell, which is why pavement here cracks, sinks, and opens up potholes faster than it does almost anywhere else. Wheels pay for that.
Curb rash
The scuffed grey arc along the outer lip is cosmetic and entirely fixable. We cut the damage back, fill where the metal is gouged, restore the original profile, and refinish to match whatever the wheel wore from the factory: painted, machined face, or a dark finish. Done properly, nobody can pick out which wheel it was.
Replacing a single factory alloy on a late-model vehicle often runs into four figures, so this is worth asking about before anyone orders a new one.
Bends
A hard pothole hit can bend a rim, and the symptom is usually a vibration at speed or a tire that will not hold air against the bead. Many bends can be trued back.
Some cannot, and we will say so plainly. A cracked wheel, a bend running across a spoke, or damage to the mounting face is not something to restore and keep driving on, regardless of what a cheaper quote elsewhere promises. That is a safety item, and we would rather lose the job than hand back a wheel we do not trust.
On a collision claim
Wheel damage frequently comes with the body damage in an impact, and it gets missed because adjusters are looking at eye level. We document it and write it into the estimate, so it is covered as part of the auto body repair instead of becoming your expense later.
